DoT launches initiative to support MSMEs and startups in Industry 4.0 transformation – Times of India

Mumbai: Department of Telecommunications ,Department of Telecommunications) is planning a new initiative that aims to assist organizations and startups through industry adoption emerging technologiesIt has sought proposals for a baseline survey for “Industry 4.0”. MSMEs“This is in line with the broader vision to drive digital transformation and prepare industries for the advent of 5G and 6G technologies.

Initiative overview

The survey will aim to understand the challenges faced by MSMEs in adopting Industry 4.0 and using advanced technologies. The survey will aim to lay the foundation for a strong ecosystem capable of leveraging the capabilities offered by AI, IoT, cloud computing and the integration of 5G and 6G networks. This will include identifying sector-specific needs and priorities in at least 10 sectors, recognising the diverse landscape of MSMEs and providing targeted support to promote innovation and competitiveness.
The survey will try to cover the following over a period of 60 days:

The access to MSMEs will be increased by more than 100 per cent in each region in the northern and southern parts of India. The key recommendations will set the stage for policy interventions to achieve transformational adoption of Industry 4.0, thereby enhancing the competitive position and survival of MSMEs.
