Lamborghini bets big on India's long-term prospects – Times of India

Last year, China was Lamborghini's biggest market in the Asia Pacific region with 845 units, followed by Japan (660), Korea (434), Australia (263) and Taiwan (131).
When asked how far India can move up in the ranking of top markets in the region, Scardoni said, “There is still a long way to go to get to number three, two and number one, but again we believe that in the long term, it is possible for a country like India… I believe that in the medium term India can grow very fast.”
He further added, “We believe that all the right indicators are present in India, which leads us to believe that there will be really rapid growth.”
Asked when Lamborghini would be able to cross annual sales of 150 units in India, he said, “My wish is for 2026. That is my wish, when it will happen.”
Explaining the rationale behind the company's push towards India, he said, “It is linked to the economy. It is the fastest growing country.” economy And it's also important to note that the consumer in India is the youngest among consumers across the world.”
He further said, “India is a country, new companies in the sectorSo, a lot of young customers are coming from the new economy start-ups. India has become an incubator for start-ups.”
The average age of Indian customers for Lamborghini is below 40 years, while in top markets like the US and Europe, the average is between 40-45 years.
Apart from this, Scardaoni said that the Indian government is also putting a lot of efforts in developing the roads and infrastructure of the country.
“We are seeing an amazing trend of developing and connecting key cities with new highways, which are very big projects. We believe that once these infrastructures are complete, it will give a further boost to the super sports car market,” he added.
Lamborghini sells a range of super luxury cars in India with prices starting at Rs 3.8 crore.
Regarding the current demand from India, he said, “The situation in India is quite strong, with production expected to be good till 2025.”
