New Delhi: Jio Platforms is expanding its reach in the Indian automotive market as the company has partnered with Taiwan's fabless semiconductor company MediaTek To enter the two wheeler technology platform market.
MediaTek and Jio Platforms subsidiary JioThings on Thursday jointly launched an indigenous Internet of Things (IoT) platform for the electric two-wheeler market and will offer smart digital clusters and smart modules.
Kiran Thomas, President and CEO, Jio Platforms, said, “JioThings is pleased to collaborate with MediaTek to bring our 4G Smart Android Digital Cluster, App Suite, and Smart Module solutions to the mobility industry.”
MediaTek too has expressed its positive sentiment towards the new venture. Jerry Yu, Senior VP and GM of the Intelligent Device Business Group, said, “This cluster is in line with our vision for the future of 2-wheeler smart dashboards.”
The companies said the smart digital cluster and operating system will enable real-time data analysis, customisable interfaces, voice recognition for control, IoT-enabled charging infrastructure, smart battery management system, among other features.
The platform will also provide 2-W EV users access to 'Jio Automotive App Suite' which includes services such as Jio Voice Assistant, JioSaavn, JioPages, JioExplore, etc.
