The implementing agencies of the MRA are the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) of India and the Agriculture and Food Agency of Taiwan.
“The MRA for organic products between India and Taiwan has come into effect from July 8,” the statement said.
Under the agreement, agricultural products produced and managed organically in accordance with the National Organic Production Program will be allowed to be sold as organically produced in Taiwan with relevant documentation, including display of the 'India Organic' logo.
“Similarly, agricultural products produced and managed organically in accordance with the Organic Agriculture Promotion Act and accompanied by organic performance documentation (transaction certificate etc.) issued by a recognised certification body under Taiwan regulation, including display of the Taiwan Organic logo, are allowed to be sold as organically produced in India,” it said.
